SUMMARY OF THE FUNCTION: Responsible for overseeing tax compliance and planning services for clients. Work closely with the Accounting Manager to provide high-quality service to our clients.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee tax compliance services, including preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate, individual, partnership, etc.) and providing tax planning services
• Provide tax-related consulting services to clients, including advising on tax implications of business transactions
• Manage tax audits and respond to tax authority inquiries and notices
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies for clients to minimize tax liability
• Review tax provisions and tax footnotes in financial statements
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance for clients
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA or EA certification required
• 7+ years of experience in tax compliance and planning
• Bilingual in Japanese and English a plus
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
• Experience with tax software (e.g. Lacerte, ProSystem fx Tax) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
COMPENSATION:
•$130K to $170K DOE
