Summary:
Responsible for managing the sales and marketing activities of O.E.M. The duties include performing sales activities, issuing purchase orders, communicating with customers, developing forecasts, and performing engineering support. The Sales Manager is responsible for the management of Chicago Office which mainly handles Company’s O.E.M. products including the management of sales and marketing. It is also responsible for management and supervising of the Company’s Planning & Procurement division that provides purchasing, shipping & receiving, and inventory management. In addition, provides miscellaneous activities in departmental accounting and administration areas.
SALES & MARKETING/MANAGEMENT:
Develops and implements sales plans to reach the company’s goals.
Develops an annual consolidated forecast of sales with budgeting on monthly and quarterly basis.
Conducts sales presentations to the potential customers.
Provides quotations to customers with cost analysis.
Issues purchase orders, check aging report as well as maintaining of the inventories.
Market analysis.
Communicates with existing and potential customers to seek the market trend as well as the sales opportunities.
Monitors exchanging rate which may affect the products prices.
Provides daily work direction to sales representative and planner.
Coordinate between parent company and vendor regarding development related issues.
Review and confirm the contents of contract.
Sets the sales and marketing goals and ensures the goals are achieved.
Assists subordinates if there are the issues of customer relationship.
Monitors and controls products cost.
Ensures quality check for the products shipment.
Identifies markets opportunities of the O.E.M. products sales.
Develops and implements methods and techniques of the O.E.M. marketing.
Resolves departmental problem as necessary.
ENGINEERING
Communicates with engineering department for customer requests of modification/adjustment of the products.
Executes customers’ feedback to the engineering department.
Supports and coordinates with engineers regarding customer issues on product quality.
Quality support, and support for PPAP and factory audit.
Coordinate between clients and factory when there are defective merchandises.
Assists Engineering Dept. to resolve the departmental problem as necessary.
OFFICE MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISING
Directs and coordinates activities of sales team and P&P team.
Ensures that all policies and procedures are developed; business plan strategies, timelines, quality of the services, goals, etc. are monitored and followed.
Monitors and reviews employees’ work activities through individual meetings and group meetings to ensure that all work activities are proceeding smoothly to plan.
Delegates and advises employees regarding the Company’s corporate philosophy and business practices.
Motivates, develops and mentors employees for improved performance.
Prepares annual budget for the Chicago Office.
Communicates with the Company management and executes the corporate decisions to the employees in Chicago office.
Consolidates reports from sales and engineering departments and process the reports to the Company management
Monitors and ensures regulation compliances of Chicago Office.
Responsible for the sales and revenues of Chicago Office.
Responsible for the inventory of OEM products.
Anything related to hiring a new employee.
Oversees assistant manager and employee activities on a day-to-day basis including the monitoring and reviewing work activities of staff, the setting performance expectations and appraising and correcting employee performance as needed.
Assists entire Chicago office in the department including maintenance of par, customer, vendor in system,
purchasing and sales pricing, perpetual inventory control and maintenance of new & complicated account such as new gas valve customers.
Analyzes inventory for OEM and sales by division product & category monthly.
Submits various reports such as internal auditing as requested and inventory & sales report by item as requested by OEM.
ACCOUNTING & ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT
Gathers all invoices & proof of delivery, and notify OEM office so that customers accelerate their payments.
Prepares for semi or annual inventory including listing all obsolete items and entering adjusted & closing journal
upon officers’ approval. Reviews all sales, purchase & other inventory transaction to be entered for closure.
Assists OEM office with NAFTA certification of origin, and advises questions for computer entry.
Maintains OEM engineering order such as purchase order entry & invoicing. Approves payment for production
(MA-invoice) & engineering order (T-invoice) or Account Payable.
Qualifications
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five or more years of previous experience in a sales function.
Must be highly knowledgeable in Company’s business products.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook (ERP software experience a plus)
Native level English skills are required. Conversational Japanese skills are a plus.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally (up to 2-3 times a month)
